Work-Based Learning
Work-based Learning gives students hands-on, real-world training that coincides with classroom learning. Real-world experience is essential for networking with employers and gaining valuable skills and potential job opportunities.
Internships and other experiential learning opportunities may be compensated by the employers, and students can earn college credit for participating. Work-based learning can be internships, job shadowing, practicums, service learning projects, and many more!
Students who are interested in completing their internships must do the following:
Internships, Job Shadowing, and Service Learning are handled within the Office of Career Services and in conjunction with the corresponding academic areas.
Practicums are typically with the Social Work & Addictions programs, and Clinicals fall under the Healthcare programs. For more information, contact the Director or Clinical Coordinator of your intended program.
Students should submit their internship goals as SMART goals. If you need a reminder on SMART goals, this will help you form those goal statements.
