What participating educators from 2022 had to say about the Boot Camp Experience from Marion County?

  • “Teacher Boot Camp was a rewarding experience, giving me insight into various businesses. As I toured each plant, I saw many ways to help students understand employer work requirements, work ethics, need for safety, cleanliness, precision, and teamwork. Every single manufacturer made me proud to live in this community. Learning about some hidden gems in the local manufacturing arena was a real treat.” (Pam Holman, River Valley Schools)
  • “I felt the Teacher Boot Camp was beneficial for current teachers to listen to employers discuss the current strengths and weaknesses of new hires. This should help schools and teachers communicate and develop the needed work skills in the K-12 classroom.”  (Scott Murphy, Marion City Schools)
  • “I was inspired by the Teacher Boot Camp. I was able to hear loud and clear what the employers wanted me to impress on the students to prepare them to work in manufacturing in Marion.”(Dave Sieg, Ridgedale Schools)
  • “Touring local manufacturing across Marion and seeing what they produce and how many employment opportunities there are was eye-opening.” (Scott Emerick, Upper Sandusky Schools)
