The Lead.
Over 40 million American adults have some college, no credential. Every adult learner deserves a chance to fulfill their educational dreams. Many have the drive to re-enroll but need support as they navigate their return to higher education. To better champion this population of students, Marion Technical College is partnering with ReUp Education.
These coaches provide personalized support designed to help adult learners thrive in higher education by:
- Offering 1:1 conversations by phone, email, or text
- Exploring educational and career goals and developing personalized plans
- Connecting students with resources and support to take the next step in their return
“Students hit a variety of roadblocks on their way to a certificate or degree,” said Craig Sohl, director of Title III programs at Marion Tech. “The ReUp success coaches will help students come up with a plan to overcome those roadblocks and get back on the road to success. Once reenrolled, the ReUp coaches provide ongoing support to students who will assist them in planning their next steps and answering questions.”
Since 2015, ReUp has been helping higher education institutions engage, enroll and support adult learners. Using patented technology and one-on-one personalized coaching, ReUp’s approach will help Marion Tech reach learners who have previously put a pause on their education.
As part of the partnership, ReUp will serve as an expert on adult learners for MTC, offering institution-specific insights and strategic recommendations based on industry trends, millions of data points on adult learners and direct learner feedback.
Returning students will be provided holistic support from ReUp as they navigate re-enrollment and while they are active students, all the way to degree completion.
These students will also have access to Marion Tech’s academic advisors to help them plan next steps, navigate through questions they may have, and receive guidance and direction. This combination of resources sets students up to thrive once re-enrolled at Marion Tech.
This is just one more example of support for Marion Tech students, including the Connections Center with a food pantry; our student resource navigator through Marion Matters; and the Student Assistance Program funded by the Crawford-Marion ADAMH Board.
Returning students can also get started here: Admissions. They don’t have to apply. They just need to fill out a returning student form.
