Rachel Darby, RHIT, CCS
Biography
Rachel serves as the Program Director for the Health Information Technology program at Marion Technical College (MTC). She previously served as an adjunct faculty member for several years before transitioning to a full-time leadership role following more than 10 years of professional experience at Avita Health System. Her healthcare background includes over five years of experience as a professional medical coder, providing applied expertise in health data management, reimbursement, and compliance-related processes. She is also a veteran of the United States Air Force, bringing additional leadership, discipline, and organizational experience to her role.
Rachel holds active professional credentials through the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA), including Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) and Certified Coding Specialist (CCS). She earned her Associate’s Degree in Health Information Technology from Marion Technical College in 2013 and completed her Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management at Southern New Hampshire University in 2025.
