Jenifer Montag, Ed.D., CRC

Biography

Jenifer has almost 25 years of experience working in higher education Disability Services at a public university and three community colleges. She has held positions of Manager of Office of Disability Resources (Delta College, MI); Coordinator of Disability Services (Northern Illinois University); and Accommodations Specialist (Kishwaukee College, IL). Jenifer also has taught graduate and undergraduate credit classes in Counseling Skills; American Sign Language; Introduction to Rehabilitation Sciences; Learning and Study Skills; and First Year Experience. Additionally, she has served as a faculty advisor for two student organizations, DeafPRIDE and Delta Alpha Pi (International Honor Society for Students with Disabilities). Jenifer recently completed her Ed.D. in Community College Leadership from Northern Illinois University, with her dissertation titled Facilitating Equal Access for Disabled Students Who Are Incarcerated: An Exploratory Mixed Methods Study of Community Colleges’ Disability Services in For-Credit Correctional Education Programs. Along with her experience in facilitating access for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students, Blind and students with low vision, Jenifer has also developed real-world solutions to ensuring access for disabled students who are incarcerated and enrolled in college correctional education programs.
