College Credit Plus

Marion Technical College (MTC) is proud to partner with more than 20 area schools to give students the opportunity to participate in the College Credit Plus program. Qualified students in grades 7-12 can begin a pathway toward their educational goal by earning college credit through the CCP program at Marion Technical College. Students can use one of the pathways as a guide, or create their own unique pathway with the direction of an advisor. Students in the CCP program at MTC can save time and money by earning transferable credit toward both their high school and a college degree, for free!

Students in the CCP program can select from a wide range of courses. Some of the benefits of taking college coursework in the CCP program include: earning credit in courses not available at their high school, taking more challenging coursework, earning credit that counts as high school and college credit, as well as exploring college majors and career options. There is even the option for students to complete a certificate or an associate degree at MTC through the College Credit Plus program.

Under Rule 3333-1-65.12 College Credit Plus students must start with Level I courses for their first 15 credit hours. Level I course examples are below and you can also click here for more information:

  • Transferable courses (Approved CTAG, OTM, TAG, or equivalent at private college or university
  • Courses in computer science, information technology, anatomy, physiology, etc.
  • Course in a designated technical certificate program
  • Course in 15- credit hour or 30 credit hour model pathways
  • Courses in study skills, academic or career success skills

Almost all of MTC courses are considered a Level I course, talk with your academic advisor about options. To search the MTC catalog of courses, follow this link: https://myweb.mtc.edu/SelfService/Search/CatalogSearch.aspx

Credits earned in the CCP program may be used at MTC, or for transfer to another college or university. Most courses students take under the CCP program are part of Ohio’s Transfer to Degree Guarantee and are guaranteed to transfer to any Ohio public college.
