Covid-19 Additional Emergency Funds Application

COVID-19 ADDITIONAL EMERGENCY FUNDING

Marion Technical College was granted funding under the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) to provide emergency grants to students impacted by COVID-19. Eligible students were issues checks on May 8, 2020.  MTC has a limited amount of additional funds remaining.  To apply for additional funds, enrolled students must complete the COVID-19 Additional Emergency Funds Application, have demonstrated eligibility for federal financial aid and, not be enrolled solely in an online program when courses were changed to remote delivery.

The qualifying criteria for CARES funds are:

  • General enrolled students for Spring 2020 semester
  • Completed a 2019-2020 FAFSA (and verification if required)
  • Degree or Certificate seeking
  • Not enrolled in 100% online classes for Spring 2020
  • Making Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)
  • Not owe an overpayment on Title IV grants or loans.
  • Not be in default on a Title IV loan
  • Not enrolled in only first session course for Spring

Additional awards will be limited and determined eligibility and available funds.  Applications will be reviewed and considered on a case-by-case basis.

To be eligible to apply for additional emergency funds, a completed 2019-2020 FAFSA must be on file (including completed verification, if required). Students must also have been enrolled in Spring 2020.
