Your degree

This one-year certificate opens doors for jobs at hospitals, nursing and residential care facilities, group homes, patient homes, and other locations. In addition, it starts the path to a nursing degree, multi-competency health degree, among other options.

What You’ll Learn

Provide basic care, transport patients, check vital signs, communicate effectively with patients, families and medical staff, critical thinking and problem-solving. In addition to good customer service, you will monitor patient and health and record results using electronic medical records.

External Certification

Students will obtain a certificate of completion from the Ohio Department of Health upon successful completion of the NUR1000 (Nurse Aide Training) course. Successful completion of the course also enables students to take the state examination for nurse aides. Passing the exam results in the State-Tested Nurse Aide (STNA) title and placement on the Ohio Nurse Aide Registry.
