Our exercise science certificate program will set you on the path to a career as a personal trainer, physical therapist, athletic trainer, or occupational therapist.
After completing our exercise science program, you will receive a certificate and be able to take the National Strength and Conditioning Association’s Certified Personal Trainer exam. After you pass the exam, you will be able to practice as a personal trainer in a variety of settings.
What You’ll Learn
The program includes coursework in exercise assessment and prescription, wellness and disease prevention, nutrition, personal and athletic training, athletic management, and biomechanics. You’ll learn how to record vital signs, plan routines, monitor progress, teach proper techniques, and effectively communicate.
Students will be eligible to sit for the NSCA-CPT certification exam. This is a personal training certification from the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). Passing the exam results in the credential of NSCA-CPT enabling one to practice as a personal trainer in a variety of settings.
