COVID-19 Communications to Campus

Communications to Campus

  • Friday the CDC issued new guidance on indoor masking based on enhanced metrics by county.  The new guidance can be found here: COVID-19 Community Levels | CDC.  Based on this new guidance, Marion County is considered medium (yellow) and there is not a recommendation for indoor masking.  The guidance highlights the following for areas which are yellow:

    • If you are at high risk for severe illness, talk to your healthcare provider about whether you need to wear a mask and take other precautions
    • Stay up to date with COVID-19 vaccines
    • Get tested if you have symptoms
    • People may choose to mask at any time.
    • People with symptoms, a positive test, or exposure to someone with COVID-19 should wear a mask.

As a result of this change, we will be removing the masking requirement while in Marion Tech buildings at all locations beginning Monday, February 28, 2022.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, MTC has initiated a responsive action plan for our campus community that includes frequent communications and updates to campus on this evolving situation. As future communications are released, they will be posted on this webpage.
