Transfer of Other College Credits - to MTC
To transfer credit from another college, your courses must be from institutions approved by appropriate regional accrediting associations as recognized in the Higher Education Directory. Credits from the military or professional and specialized schools and programs may also be submitted for evaluation.
Unless otherwise governed by Ohio Guaranteed Transfer Course Policy as found on this website or its links, or by an articulation agreement with another college, the approval of transfer credits is at the discretion of the department dean or director. Courses generally must have been completed with a “C” (or a "satisfactory" on a satisfactory/unsatisfactory evaluation scale). A course completed with a “D” will transfer if a “D” in the MTC course is likewise accepted as completed toward graduation by MTC native students, or is a part of a continued sequence and a “C” or better was earned in the next higher level course in the sequence.
At least 32 credit hours for any degree program must be earned at MTC, of which 16 must be in technical courses. The number of transfer credits accepted toward the degree or certificate will vary depending upon the program requirements and credit hour totals.

Future and current students, and graduates, have numerous opportunities to transfer their MTC credits, either as an entire degree or on a course-by-course basis. See the Transfer Course List for details and a link to the Ohio Board of Regents Credit Transfer webpage.

MTC’s Associate of Arts Degree Associate of Arts (AA) and Associate of Science Degree Associate of Science (AS) Associate of Science (AS) provide students with the opportunity to affordably complete their first two years of a bachelor’s degree and transfer credit to public four- year colleges and universities. MTC students also have an excellent track record of transferring credits and degrees to private or independent colleges and universities. See Bachelor’s Degree Options for examples.
Early planning for transfer during the admission process is important to ensure that you receive proper evaluation of credits that may be applied to a program of study at MTC.
