Our students are busy people often working, raising families, and participating in active lifestyles. Pursuing your college and career goals takes time that is often difficult to fit into a busy schedule. So if it is time to get started back to MTC, we want to assist you with the process of returning to the College.
Returning Students FAQs
Where to Begin …
If you have been away for more than a year and you want to pursue the same major and program, you can contact your academic department about registration and course selection, click to view contact information. Limited Enrollment Programs may have specific guidelines for returning to their programs.
If you have been away from the College for more than one year then you are considered a returning student and need to update your Major and Program and other changes that may have occurred while you were away.
Students who have been away from MTC for more than one year and all students pursuing a Limited Enrollment Program start with an Admission Appointment. Contact the Office of Admission if you would like to review updates at MTC in person. Your information will be updated with a Returning Student Reactivation Form which should be completed and submitted to the Office of Student Records.
The contents of the Admission appointment includes the steps to Return to the College including the registration and advising, the Financial Aid Process, required placement testing, and your student ID number. Phone admission appointments are available for your convenience.

If you have your student ID number and you have registered for classes, you will be able to use MY MTC to access your student information. In the future, you will be able to register, make payments and access your grades online. You will also be able to print your class schedule,. If you have been absent from the College for more than one year, your account will need to be reactivated. This will be done automatically after you have registered for classes upon returning to the College. MY MTC can be accessed from the top of every page of the web site.

Students who have experienced academic difficulty will need to meet with an Academic Dean or Director if the student is not in good academic standing (2.0 Grade point average or less). The Academic Warning, Probation and Dismissal Information is available in the Student Handbook. Some students may be able to improve their academic standing through Academic Renewal.
Part of returning to college is the need to reapply for financial aid. The easiest way to do this is to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online. Learn more about grants, loans and scholarships on our Financial Aid page.
