Software Development Certificate

The curriculum is comprised of computer programming, database, and security courses.

Students will gain computer skills involving programming, mobile application development, database design, and computer security.

STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES

What am I expected to learn?

Develop Microsoft® Windows applications with C# that utilize standard Windows controls, database access, and error handling.  Build mobile applications with Java for the Android platform.  Design and create databases, work with stored procedures and functions, and query data using Microsoft® SQL Server.  Communicate professionally with co-workers, managers, end-users, and customers.  Analyze and prepare design specifications for information systems.

Students who complete this curriculum are prepared to sit for the following external certification exams:

Admission Standard

  1. MTC Application for Admission and nonrefundable applicable fee.

  2. High school transcript (or GED results) and college transcripts (if applicable).

  3. Successful completion of the Basic Skills Assessment ACT or COMPASS and Technology Skills Test (TST) is required. Students also have the option to complete College Foundation courses.
