Hired on a Quarterly Basis
Marion Technical College continues to seek qualified applicants for Community Faculty.
Community, or adjunct, faculty are those employees who are hired under
a quarterly contract to teach for a specified academic term. MTC
relies heavily on the expertise of people in the community to teach
classes in Business, Engineering, Health and Public Service Technologies.
Applicants are expected to have a Bachelor’s degree in relevant field, strong interpersonal skills and evidence of effective teaching/training. A Master’s degree in the field or a related field is preferred.
Classes can be scheduled on-campus or off-campus at sites located at area high schools or prisions. Day and evening sections may be available; classes generally meet two times per week for two hours each. Candidates are contacted with available classes, days and times, etc. and are given the opportunity to accept or pass to a future term. Course content, class assignments, exams, etc. are furnished by the College. Candidates bring their knowledge, teaching style and life experiences to the classroom to make a unique learning experience for students.
