MTC is an open admission institution. Anyone with a high school diploma or GED is eligible for admission.

Marion Technical College is located on a 180-acre campus just east of the city of Marion on State Route 95, sharing five buildings with The Ohio State University at Marion [OSUM].The Campus includes the Technical Education Center, Morrill Hall, Alber Student Center, Library/Classroom Building, and Maynard Hall. In addition, MTC’s Center for Workforce Development and Engineering Technologies division are housed in a building adjacent to Campus.

The average class size for lecture courses is 24 students; for lab courses the average is 17.

 

Tiny SpiralCOST TO ATTEND

MTC’s tuition is $107 per credit hour. Tuition per term for a full-time student is $1,284. Laboratory fees, textbooks, and supplies are in addition to tuition and fees.

 

Tiny SpiralDEGREE PROGRAMS

MTC awards the Associate of Applied Business, Associate of Applied Science, and Associate of Technical Studies degrees in Business, Engineering, Health, Information, and Public Service technologies. In addition, one-year or short-term certificate programs are available in the technology areas.

Current MTC enrollment is approximately 2,500 credit students. Over 30,000 have attended MTC since it was founded in 1970.

Over 80% of students attending MTC are eligible for some type of financial aid. MTC provides students with over $6 million in grants, scholarships, loans, and other college financial aid each year.

MTC had 878 graduates between 2000 and 2005; 91% of those graduates were employed one-half year following graduation.

Students have access to a variety of learning resources, including tutoring, disability services, computer labs, and student e-mail. The Marion Campus Library is part of The Ohio State University Library system and is a member of the OhioLINK system. The total library collection includes more than 5.5 million volumes.

 

Tiny SpiralPOST SECONDARY ENROLLMENT OPTION (PSEO) PROGRAM

MTC is very active in the PSEO program with over 350 students enrolled at MTC as a PSEO student. MTC conducts classes on-site at the following high schools:  Bucyrus, Centerburg, Delaware Hayes, Elgin, Highland, Ridgedale, and Upper Sandusky High Schools. For more information, click here.

MTC sponsors various clubs and organizations, intramural athletics, unique Outdoor Pursuits programs, recreational and common areas, a gymnasium, aerobics and weight room facilities, meeting rooms, and lounge areas. MTC students are also eligible to participate in Marion Campus athletic programs, such as women’s volleyball, men’s and women’s basketball, soccer, and golf.

Tiny SpiralTRANSFERING CREDITS

House Bill 95 established the Transfer Assurance Guide, which guarantees Ohio college students and graduates their credits will transfer from one public institution to another. A Transfer Assurance Guide, (TAG), course is unique in that it has been matched to a set of learning outcomes in a specific academic subject area. Approved TAG courses carry the guarantee that the courses and their credits will transfer and apply toward the major at any of Ohio’s public institutions of higher education, provided they were taken when the courses were equivalent.
