Associate of Arts and Associate of Science Degrees
Under Ohio House Bill 119, the Ohio legislature authorized Ohio technical colleges to seek authorization to award Associate of Arts (AA) and Associate of Science (AS) degrees. Marion Technical College is seeking approval from the Ohio Board of Regents to begin offering the Associate of Arts and Associate of Science degrees. Upon receiving authorization, MTC will make the degree programs available to the public.
Associate of Arts Degree
The Associate of Arts (AA) is essentially the first two years towards a Bachelor of Arts degree. The AA degree is a two year liberal arts/general education degree with an emphasis in English, Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities, Mathematics, and Natural Sciences. Graduates of this program will have the general education necessary to pursue a Bachelor’s degree at most four-year colleges and universities as juniors.
