Parking
Parking Regulations:
Students are permitted to park in the following areas: Lot 1, 2, 3 N, 3 S, 5 & 6. Parking on Marion Campus is without cost and vehicles do not need to be registered. Parking in unauthorized areas (e.g. loading zone, handicap restricted, visitor, etc.) may lead to issuance of a citation, monetary fine and the potential for your vehicle to be towed at your own expense. Please use the student lots for campus business. Students, faculty and staff may not park in visitor parking or other restricted parking while conducting campus business. If you do not possess handicapped parking privileges, please do not use parking spaces marked as such. Parking informational brochures are available at the Marion Campus Public Safety Office, Morrill Hall – Room 140.
The campus speed limit is posted 20 mph. Students, faculty and staff should take extra care when entering or exiting campus via Mt. Vernon Ave. This is a busy intersection and cross-traffic can be traveling at 35 MPH and above. Additionally, all drivers and passengers are reminded of the importance of wearing their seat belts when operating or riding in a vehicle. Please allow yourself time to drive safely.
If you are a student and you park Illegally your car will be towed and you will be fined!!!
If you park in a visitors space the fine is $10 plus the cost of the tow. If you park in a Handicap space the fine is $25 plus the cost of the tow. Your car will be towed if you park in Non-Designated spaces, park in the grass, and state vehicle parking ONLY. Please park in the student parking lot to avoid a fine and your car being towed.
