Mentoring
The Mentoring Experience
“students helping students”
The MTC Student Mentoring Program’s purpose is to assist new students in their
adjustment to college life and college academics. The program matches first quarter
students (mentees) with the experience and knowledge of current or former MTC students
(mentors). The mentor’s main role is to serve as a role model and personal resource to
their mentee. Early in the quarter, you and your mentor will make arrangements for weekly
contacts and make a plan to address specific concerns.
Educational success is a top priority. The mentoring program is designed to enhance this
success by promoting supportive, respectful and healthy relationships. If you having a mentor would be helpful, contact Mike Stuckey at ext. 271.
