The departments of Arts and Sciences and Business and Information Technologies will be offering a learning community combining ENG 0990 (Preparation for College Writing II) and OIS 1200 (Computer Basics) for Winter Quarter 2010. This combination of classes ran as a learning community last winter quarter and was a wonderful learning opportunity for students.
Along with learning the course content of each class, students developed strong relationships with fellow students and with the instructors. Students met college personnel from other departments, and they had the opportunity to meet with Dr. Bryson. These students gained an insight into MTC that other students were unable to gain.
If you know of any student who needs these two classes, please encourage them to join the learning community. The combined classes will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9 AM until noon. They are designated on the winter schedule with the letters LC in the section number.
