PSEO

PSEO and YOU: A great Partnership

The PSEO program offers qualified high school students to enroll in college level courses for high school and college credit.

PSEO Offers:

  • A broader range of choices to complete requirements for high school graduation.
  • A "head start" toward your college education which may reduce the amount of time and money needed to complete your degree.
  • A means to discover if college is right for you and to explore various interests before going to college.
  • An exposure to college teaching methods and the college experience, thus easing your transition into college.
  • Your college credits may be applied to a degree at MTC or transferred to other colleges and universities.
Two option are available under this program:

Option A:  College credit only.
Option B:  High school AND college credit

If you choose Option B, your tuition, fees, and costs of books are all paid through state funds AT NO COST TO YOU!

Individual or group appointments with an MTC admission counselor are available upon request.

           ADVANCED PLACEMENT POLICY STATEMENT
(for high school A.P. courses and tests)

FOR STUDENTS/PARENTS

The State of Ohio, working through the University System of Ohio, has initiated policies to facilitate the ease of transition from high school to college and between and among Ohio’s Public colleges and universities. Since Marion Technical College is part of the University System, the new advanced placement policy will benefit all MTC students to which it applies.
As one element in the process, the State passed a policy to align the awarding of college credit for those successfully completing Advanced Placement (A.P.) courses and passing associated exams as a part of their high school curriculum. Beginning in the Fall of 2009, students obtaining an A.P. exam score of 3 or above will be granted college-level course credit in the appropriate academic area.  Currently all Ohio public colleges and universities are identifying course matches for each Advanced Placement test where institutional coursework exists.
