New faces at MTC and Promotions!
Scott Potter, Dean of Arts & Sciences
Scott has accepted the position of Dean of Arts and Sciences. Scott has been with MTC for over 15 years serving as Assistant Professor. He has served as lead faculty and also on various administrative assignments at the College including serving on several Ohio Board of Regents transfer and curriculum committees. Scott has a strong passion for education and helping students obtain a well-rounded advanced education. Scott holds a master’s degree in Education from the University of Dayton, a bachelor’s degree in Education, and a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice both from OSU.

Cheryl Hagerty, ABLE Coordinator
Cheryl will coordinate the ABLE program for the Marion, Morrow, and Wyandot Counties’ ABLE Consortium. The Adult Basic and Literacy Education (ABLE) Program provides educational opportunities for adults to increase their foundation of basic skills. The program provides free instruction to adults, including high school graduates, who require help in basic literacy for the workplace or in preparation for the General Educational Development (GED) test. Cheryl has dedicated 30 years to the ABLE program, serving as Union County’s ABLE Coordinator for 16 of those years. Cheryl is excited about continuing this worthwhile cause.

Andrew Hand, Psychology Instructor
Andrew comes to us from The Tomorrow Center in Edison, Ohio. The Tomorrow Center is Ohio’s first alternative school specially designed for recovering addicts and alcoholics. Hand holds a Master of Arts in Education from OSU and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Wittenberg University. He is excited to work with high schools in the area teaching Post Secondary Education Option courses.

Feng Hua, Electrical Engineering
Instructor
Feng Hua has been an assistant professor at
Clarkson University in Potsdam, New York, since 2005 teaching in the Electrical and Computer
Engineering Department. He has ten years of
industry experience. Feng holds a Ph.D. in
Engineering from Louisiana Tech University and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Feng states that he is ready to integrate his field experience into the classroom and is enthusiastic about interacting with students.

Chad Schneider, Director of the
Occupational Therapy Assistant Program
As the Director, Chad will be responsible for the development of the Occupational Therapy Assistant program that will begin Winter Quarter 2011. Chad was an occupational therapist at the North Central Ohio Educational Service Center here in Marion, which provides school-based occupational therapy services to Marion county school districts. Chad has earned his Ph.D. from OSU in Education with a minor in Technologies of Instruction and Media. He holds a B.S. in Occupational Therapy from the University of
Illinois and a B.S. in Education from OSU. Chad speaks fluent
German and also speaks Spanish.

Michael Chapman, Admission Counselor/Recruiter
Along with serving as an Admissions Counselor, Mike will develop student recruitment programs. As a former Admission Counselor and member of the Multicultural Recruitment Team at Miami University, Mike has implemented recruitment programs, advised prospective students and formed partnerships with high schools. Most recently, he worked in the Office of Student Financial Aid at OSU, Columbus. Mike holds a master’s degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs from The Ohio State University and a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Miami University. He is currently working on a second master’s degree from OSU in Educational Technology.

Margie White, Director of Health
Information Technology
Margie has been an MTC community faculty member since 2007 in the Allied Health area. She has also taught at DeVry, Owens Community College, and Allen School in New York, teaching both on-line and on-campus courses. As the Assistant Administrator at Columbus Colony Elderly Care, she assisted in the day-to-day operations ensuring the overall efficiencies of the facility. Margie holds a M.S. in Health Sciences from Cleveland State University and a B.S. in Professional Arts-Health Care Administration from St. Joseph’s College in Maine.

Sam Wolfe, Human & Social Services
Instructor
Sam has taught Human & Social Services classes as a regular full-time MTC instructor and also as a community faculty member in the past. He taught classes at OSU and has been a presenter for the Suicide Prevention Resource Center and the Ohio Suicide Prevention Foundation. Sam has been in general psychiatry private practice and counseling through the Marion Area Counseling Center and the Community Counseling Service in Galion. He holds a master’s degree in Counseling from Grace Theological Seminary and master’s degree in Counselor Education and Community Agency Counseling. He will soon graduate with his Ph.D. in Counselor Education.

Kathy Rice, Coordinator, Tutorial Services
Kathy, who has been with the college for several years holding different positions, will now devote 100% of her energy to the tutoring program and other student success initiatives in the Student Resource Center.
