NON-SMOKING AREAS
Campus Policy
Campus non-smoking policy and the Ohio State Smoke-Free Workplace Law (ORC 3794) are in effect at the Marion Campus. Smoking is prohibited inside buildings or under outside overhangs (e.g. covered loading docks, covered porches, bus shelters, entryways, etc.) Smoking is prohibited within 25-feet of doors and windows that open; or air intakes. Compliant signage has been posted at all entryways on campus. Ashtrays have been removed from areas in which smoking is prohibited – trashcans may not be used as ashtrays. All individuals must discontinue smoking when asked to do so in locations where smoking is prohibited.

Chameleon Award Information

There is good news for college students beginning this coming school year. According to the National Association of Student Financial Aid and Administrators (NASFAA), “The maximum Federal Pell Grant award for the 2008-2009 award year will be $4,731, which is an increase of $421 from the 2007-2008 award year”. In addition, a student beginning college this fall could receive up to $2,496 from the Ohio College Opportunity Grant.

Students Email Upgraded |
The student e-mail system has been upgraded to Outlook. All students access the student e-mail system using the sign on information for New Students. As soon as you successfully sign on, you will be asked to change your password. This is normal. Change your password. Information on password complexity is listed here.

Sign Up for Buckeye Alert |
The Marion Campus of Marion Technical College and the Ohio State University now has access to an Emergency Notification System. You can sign up, free of charge, for the Buckeye Alert system at: https://buckeyealert.osu.edu/notify/index.php for text messages to be sent to your cell phone in the case of a campus emergency.The Marion Campus Public Safety Office will coordinate with OSU Department of Public Safety for delivery of messages in accordance with system use policies and procedures.
