Program Curriculum

Are you a creative person, who wants to be on the cutting edge of technology?  Marion Technical College and The Ohio State University at Marion offer a joint degree program in Interactive Media that enables students to prepare for occupations in digital communications. Interactive Media students master skills in general education, business, art, and computer technologies as they relate to the manipulation and management of text, photography, audio/video, animation, and the Web.

People who complete the program earn an Associate of Technical Studies degree from Marion Technical College.  Courses in the Interactive Media program are arranged in an approximate 50/50 split between MTC and OSUM.  Students enjoy access to both the fine arts and design resources at the Ohio State University and the information technologies and business training from Marion Technical College.

Graduates will be prepared to pursue an entry-level occupation in a wide variety of industries, work on a consultant basis, or continue into a four-year program in digital communications or multi-media applications.  Employers are seeking people who can produce and manage Web sites, and represent ideas with audio, video, and animation. Job titles range from multi-media artists and designers to graphic designers to Web master, Web designer, or Web developer.
