Attention Parents and High School Students!
Opportunity is knocking!!

Now more than ever it is important for high school students to earn college credits while still in high school Below you will find options to get a jump start on college.  And don’t worry!  Your credits will transfer to all state colleges and universities if you decide to continue your education through institutional transfer. There are several options available for high school students who are interested in earning college credits while still in high school (Dual Enrollment*).  Review the options listed to see which track may work for you!  Marion Technical College has a staff that is ready to help you with the details, so call us at 740-389-4636, or email us at enroll@mtc.edu.

Dual Credit Option
The Dual Credit Option is a state-funded program that allows high school students the opportunity to earn college credits at the same time they are earning high school credits from qualified high school instructors. This option is offered on the high school campus. If this option is not available at your high school, ask your guidance counselor for more information, or contact Marion Technical College at 740-389-4636 for more information.

Seniors to Sophomores
Qualifying 12th-graders can jump-start their college careers by spending their senior year on MTC’s campus. Under the Seniors to Sophomores program, students would pay for books and some fees but their tuition would be free. They would get a high-school diploma and a full year of college credits at the same time. This is the pilot year for this program. Marion Technical College has teamed up with Highland High School, which is one of only 49 high schools state wide to offer this option. Governor Strickland would like to open this program up next year; if you want to get involved, see your guidance counselor for more information or call MTC at 740-389-4636.  For more information on the Seniors to Sophomores program, you can click here.

Tech Prep
Ohio College Tech Prep prepares students for high-skilled, high-demand technical careers in a competitive global economy. Rigorous educational pathways emphasize math, science, and technology and lead to post-secondary education. Educators, employers, and communities collaborate to develop and deliver all Tech Prep pathways. To learn more about College Tech Prep options at Marion Technical College, call Roger Johnson at 740-389-4636 ext. 324 visit our Tech Prep Page.

Post-Secondary Enrollment Options
The Post-Secondary Enrollment Options (PSEO) program is designed to allow high school students the opportunity to earn college credit and/or high school graduation credit through successful completion of college courses (either on our campus or at off-site locations).  This is a great program for high school students who are interested in starting their college career before they start college – at virtually no cost to students! Learn more by visiting www.mtc.edu/PSEO or call 740-389-4636.
