Carol Hoffman,
RN, MS,
Dean of Nursing

Hoffman's Bachelor's and Master's Degrees both came from The Ohio State University. She has been the Dean of Nursing at Marion Technical College Since 2001, but has a long history in the field of Nursing. Hoffman has done everything from Staff Nursing (Med-Surg and Home Health), Nursing Management, and a nursing instructor. Hoffman has been a faculty member at MTC in the Nursing program since 1975. She was a pioneer of our program, and teaches in the 1st and 2nd year nursing clinical, lab, and classroom.
Professional involvement includes the National League of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honorary, OCADNEA (Ohio Council of Associate Degree Nursing Education Administrators) Treasurer, TriRivers Advisory Board, and Otterbein University Advisory Board. She is also a member of the Founder of Marion Rainbow Singers, Inc., and Trinity Baptist Church.

Deborah Bates
Dean of Allied Health
|
Deborah Bates has over 30 years of experience within the healthcare field and has been a wonderful asset to Marion Technical College since 1990. She has several degrees, her latest being a Master's Degree from Ashland University. Bates has worked in several aspects of medical sciences including laboratory/transfusion medicine, administration and medical laboratory education.
Her career began at Marion General Hospital and continued to Marion Technical College where she was a faculty member for several years before she became the Dean of Allied Health. Bates has been an active participant in building the growing Medical Sciences section of the Health Field here at Marion Technical College. She is also a Medical Technologist and Specialist in Blood Banking through the American Society of Clinical Pathologists. |

Linda Rizzo
Director of Radiography
|
Rizzo has been involved in several aspects of the field of Radiography since 1974. She received a Bachelor's degree in Allied Health from Heidelberg College. She started out as a Radiographer and quickly became an instructor in the field at Marion General Hospital School of Radiologic Tehcnology. She spent most of her career at Marion General before coming to Marion Technical College in 2000. Rizzo has been instrumental in program development and enrollment management.
She is involved in several organizations including the Ohio Society of Radiologic Technologists, American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, American Society of Radiologic Technologists, Co-Chairperson for the OSRT Educational meeting, OSRT Educational Committee, OSRT Quiz Bowl and several others. |

Susan Cotterman, PT
Director, Physical Therapist Assistant Program |
Susan Cotterman has worked in the physical therapy field since 1995. First, as a physical therapy aide, then as a physical therapist after earning her Bachelor's degree from The Ohio State University. Cotterman has worked in several areas of physical therapy including acute care, skilled nursing, outpatient orthopedics, and home health. Cotterman has been the director of the PTA program since 2003 and earned her Master's Degree from Baker College in 2005.
Cotterman has worked with students prior to coming to MTC as a clinical instructor and Clinical Coordinator of Clinical Education (CCCE). She teaches in the first and second year PTA classroom and lab courses. She is a member of the American and Ohio Physical Therapy Associations (APTA & OPTA), and a member of the Ohio PTA Educators Consortium. She continues to work contingent as a Physical Therapist (PT) with Ohiohealth and a local Home Health Agency. |
