One important member of any health care team is the Phlebotomist. Phlebotomists are specially trained individuals who use a variety of equipment and techniques to collect blood samples from patients, usually in conjunction with diagnostic testing.
Additionally, phlebotomists have a great deal of critical contact with patients of all types. A skilled phlebotomist can make drawing blood a less traumatic experience by locating veins and introducing a needle or other equipment with little or no discomfort.
MTC offers a two-quarter certificate program in Phlebotomy. This offers interested individuals the opportunity to prepare for and enter a career field in just a matter of months.
