MTC wants to prepare you - men and women with working experience as Licensed Practical Nurses (L.P. N.s) - for challenging and rewarding careers as Registered Nurses through a unique L.P.N.-To-R.N. Transition Program.
L.P.N.s who want to earn an associate degree in Nursing (R.N.) Technology may receive up to 73 hours of college credit upon successfully completing Excelsior College or Assessment Technologies Institute (ATI) examinations, certain proficiency tests, and MTC’s NUR1040A (Transition) course. It’s the perfect way to make your work experience count!
Studying Nursing (R.N.) Technology at MTC combines lecture, small group and laboratory studies and demonstrations, and a variety of clinical learning experiences. Classroom ratios in beginning courses are approximately 10 students to one instructor to provide optimal student support.
Because many participants in the L.P.N. Transition Program are working, individuals may take up to five (5) years to complete the program. Graduates are then eligible to take the licensing examination of the National Council of State Boards of Nursing to become a Registered Nurse (R.N.).
