Controller

Marion Technical College is currently seeking to fill our Controller position.  We are looking for a self-motivated individual with high ethical standards as well as the ability to provide excellent customer service. The Controller will manage the College Business Office operations and is responsible for providing accurate and timely reporting of financial matters.  Other duties include purchasing, inventory and budgeting. 

Position is responsible for the receipt and disbursement of funds and financial reporting in accordance with the Ohio Revised Code, Auditor of State, college policy and procedure and external grantors.  Implementation of proper accounting methods and internal control procedures are critical. Position will be responsible for administrating the collection of student tuition and fees and will interact with students routinely and will also be responsible for supervision of Business Office staff.

A Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field is required.  CPA is preferred.  Three plus years current work experience demonstrating considerable responsibility in financial management, business accounting, budgeting and materials management.  Knowledge of fund accounting procedures and supervisory experience preferred. Must be a practical problem solver with high integrity, determination and dependability.  Experience in computerized accounting systems and decision support systems preferred. Experience in the use of Great Plains software preferred.
