Community Faculty Instructors
Eleven Week Terms
The Arts and Sciences Department at Marion Technical College is seeking Community Faculty instructors to teach Economics, Math and English classes. Community faculty are employees hired under a quarterly contract to teach for a specified academic term. MTC relies heavily on the expertise of people in the community to teach classes in all technologies. Applicants are expected to have a Bachelor’s degree in relevant field, strong interpersonal skills and evidence of effective teaching/training. A Master’s degree in the field or a related field is preferred.
Classes are scheduled on-campus or at our off-campus sites located at area high schools. Day and evening sections may be available; classes generally meet two times per week for two hours each. Candidates are contacted with available classes, days and times, etc. and are given the opportunity to accept or pass to a future term. Course content, class assignments, exams, etc. are furnished by the College. Candidates bring their knowledge, teaching style and life experiences to the classroom to make a unique learning experience for students. Upcoming terms begin:
- Spring 2010 begins late March
- Summer 2010 begins mid June
- Fall 2010 begins mid September
