e-DISCOVER
It's Now Online 
DISCOVER is a "comprehensive career and college information system" available to students, alumni and special guests of Marion Technical College. The software system has been available for sometime, but it has just recently gone "online, making the services more accessible. DISCOVER is available through funding by MTC's Office of Career Services and College Tech Prep grants.

DISCOVER can help you: |
- Decide on a college major or a career direction
- Make a successful career change
- Investigate and research colleges and universities
- Search for financial aid and other help for college funding
Major Sections of DISCOVER include:

- Offers Interest Tests, Abilities Inventories and Value Assessments to help match you with the right college major or career
- Lists extensive Occupational Information and career information including "hot jobs" for the future
- Offers several ways to sort and select colleges and college majors
- Provides details about job search and financial aid
- Helps you develop your own "career plan" through the My Path program that can be revised and saved
Best of all, this system is available at anytime or anyplace in which you have access to the Internet. You can access it from home or use the MTC high-speed Internet access computers to link into the system.
How can you access the DISCOVER system?

- Contact the Office of Career Services to obtain a "Token User ID," so you can enter the DISCOVER web site
- Talk with one of the MTC's Career Counselors for details about how to use the system
- Save your results and use them to help you plan your college education, career choice and job search
